Math test Thursday. Probability, decimals, and fractions will be on the exam. Please use your homework as a study guide this week.
VA Studies – We are beginning the “Reconstruction Era” and will be talking about this for the next few weeks.
Friday we have our field trip to Jamestown. Please make sure you arrive on time as the buses are loading at 8:30 sharp. Dress for the weather since it looks like rain 🙁 Also, please pack your lunch in a brown paper bag for easy transport.
It should be a great trip!

This week in math we will be starting our Probability unit. We will be predicting outcomes using coins, dice, spinners, and by choosing manipulatives out of a bag.
We finish the Civil War this week in VA studies and we will test on the unit on Thursday.
Monday – No School for students.
Tuesday – Snow Day!
Math – We will be finishing decimals this week and having our unit test on Friday. All decimal concepts will be covered. This includes: place value, rounding, comparing and ordering, and addition and subtraction.
Virginia Studies – We will be finishing up with the Civil War this week or early next week with our unit test following. This week we’ll be going over the major battles that took place in Virginia and the end of the Civil War.
We have another busy week with Benchmark Testing on Tuesday for math and Thursday for Virginia Studies.
There is no school on Friday, March 10 so enjoy your long weekend!
Week of February 27th
This week will will continue studying decimals in math class and there will be a quiz on decimal place value on Thursday, March 1st.
VA studies we are studying the events leading up to the Civil War with a quiz on Wednesday, March 1st.
Benchmark testing will begin Friday with our students taking the reading benchmark test. Make sure they come to school well rested and ready to do great on the tests!
Don’t forget that your child’s bar graph project is due this Wednesday. By now they should have all of their data collected and created their bar graph. The final step will be for them to write five questions that can be answered by their bar graph. So far they look great!
Bowling Green Elementary School has Red Ribbon Week, October 24th-28th. Students are invited to participate in a week of spirit to celebrate our choice to be drug free. Please remember to follow the school dress code.
Monday- Proud to be drug free (Wear RED to help kick off Reb Ribbon Week)
Tuesday- Use your head: Don’t do drugs! (Wear a hat or come to school with crazy hair)
Wednesday- Let’s team up against drugs! (Wear your favorite sports team’s shirt/jersey)
Thursday- Don’t get mixed up in drugs! (Wear a mismatched outfit)
Friday- Our school chooses to be drug free! (Wear your schools shirt or school colors.
This week is another busy one. Tuesday is the make up day for the Color Run. Wednesday we are having a quiz in math on elapsed time and Thursday will be our reading benchmark. Have a good week!
The color run is postponed due to the weather until Tuesday, October 4th.
There is a lot going on this week. Tuesday we will have our quiz on the five regions of Virginia. Wednesday we have our GPS test in math. Wednesday is also World Milk Day so we’re asking all students to wear black and white. Thursday is the color run and 4th grade will be running from 12:00 – 12:25. Finally, Friday is our Positive Behavior celebration here at school. September is going out with a bang!
